where did you find this list?

you can get a list of programs on probation at the ACGME website.

http://www.acgme.org/adspublic/

On the left hand side of the screen second to the bottom there's a link for accreditation decisions.

If you click on that you get a drop down box that gives you the option of selection "programs with unfavorable decisions"

This will list all programs in all specialties ordered alphabetically by specialty.

i just checked the list, and it seems that some programs are not on probation anymore and some are now on probation. so check it out.

cedars is no longer on probation - accredited for 4 years

so, citations included low gyn numbers, low primary care numbers, our chairman was our PD (conflict of interest), lack of continuity of care...

our chairman is longer our PD (hee hee), we record our stats prior to leaving clinic (YES, we have enough primary care!!!!), the admin checks our stats weekly, we have instituted pre-op evals in all of our clinics to incorporate more continuity and we worked it out with the hospital to schedule more resident OR cases. (we have an abundance of private cases that give us more than adequate numbers)
So we were actually on probation for less than year - when we were placed on probation, our admin immediately requested an expedited RRC visit rather than waiting, and we finally received the good news just this month... 4 years!
Please feel free to ask any other questions...

thanks for the update! i have an interview at cedars in january and i am pretty excited about it. can you tell me more about your gyn numbers and operative vag. delivery numbers. also, as an intern how much do you get to do in the OR? i have checked apgo for some of this info. (#'s of cases) but i would like to know the real deal from a resident. also, what hotels or cheap places to lodge for the interview? do i need to get a rental car?
thanks!

FYI- LAC/USC is also off probation (hooray!)- full accreditation for 3 yrs 🙂

Wow, I know it's been a while since someone posted on this thread, but I just ran through to check things out for myself on the website and saw that Georgetown went on probabtion as of 1/24/08!! Anyone know what's up with that? Eek!
