Hello,

Is it just me our are a lot of the genearl MD short answer questions on the Duke secondary very similar? I feel that for some of them I wasn to talk about the same activity is that okay? Also about the moral question....I'm torn all of my moral situations are too risque for medical school applications eg. my best friend sleeping with a girl I was trying to date. Can someone help me with suggestions that could help me brain storm a response? Sorry if these questions have beem asked but when I searched for Duke there were too many matches.

Take Care

I forget the specific questions duke asked (it might help people give advice if you tell us the ones you're having trouble with), but i did remember thinking there were some i could write about the same thing/event/activity for.

in general, though, i'd try to talk about a variety of things though, to create a broader sense of you as a person. you might be able to also talk about different aspects of the same thing. in my amcas i talked about a family situation in general, but then in the duke "moral" question, i talked about one specific event within that.

it just comes down to thinking. it might take a while, so just keep at it. i find it helps to think through my life in chronological segments, think about activities i did in college one-by-one and what memories/events are associated with them, etc. Think about what's in your room and how it got there, or your classes and why you took them/how they went, friends, hobbies, whatever.

i'm not sure if others agree, but i would steer away from the scenario with your friend and that girl. Although possible, it would be hard to handle tactfully and with an eye towards how that moral situation might translate to medicine.
