My school doesn't have a "committee" per say, but I have an advisor who happens to be the director of undergraduate studies for the physiology department and is a full professor who teaches physiology courses (which I have taken with him). He has a process to receive a LOR from him including submitting a complete academic portfolio, completing a self-eval sheet, and an interview. He then evaluates you based on your application strength versus previous applicants. It basically sounds exactly like the committee process, it's just that his letter is not a composite, it is a stand alone LOR.
He told me his LOR can be classified as a committee or individual letter, whichever will suit my needs best. I sent the letter into AMCAS as a committee letter and it has already been designated to a couple of my schools. After looking around I am finding out that some schools do not classify letters from advisors as committee letters.
Because of his process and his position, will this LOR count as a committee letter or must it be designated as an individual LOR? Is there anything I can do at this point? I was thinking I would create a new letter entry on AMCAS designated as individual LOR and send it from Interfolio but I'm worried my app will be delayed now while AMCAS processes the new LOR.
