I just received my loupes last week and i want to know if they are fitting good since i dont have experince with it so much.

When i put them on and i look directly down it kind of is double vision unless i look only up to my chest area, then its pretty good. but its better when i look with both eyes through the right lens.... idk why. is this normal?

it seems there might be a problem with the dimensions of the left lens.. when i look at peoples teeth i kind of focus both eyes on just the right lens and i see fine.. should i be doing this, is this normal?

i will be starting dental school in few weeks and would like to know if i should get them adjusted or if this is normal

It took me 15 minutes to stop seeing double the first time I used mine. Then after covid the same thing because it'd been months without using them. Idk how you would be able to look through one loupe with both eyes while wearing them...seems impossible unless you have them resting on the tip of your nose or something lol

did u do anything differently to avoid the double vision? and for now the double vision is normal and it just takes me while to get accustomed to it?? should i assume that they did the measurements accurately and theres no problem and i shouldnt rush to contact them?

I guess if it doesn’t go away then yes you’ll need to get them adjusted

what mag you got

I don't know how you could be looking with both eyes through one lens, even if you have flip up loupes. I would talk to your loupes rep and see if you need them adjusted or if the lens got jarred in some way.

I had this issue when I first got my loupes. I worked with just one eye some of the time in sim lab until I finally realized it was not going away and it was a bigger problem than my classmates were experiencing.

I was remeasured by the rep for my school to find that my telescopes had been placed incorrectly for my pupils. After sending them back for a few weeks, they've been working well since then.

get them adjusted. the interpupillary distance is likely wrong

How are you guys adjusting to using loupes with face shield?

We haven’t been using the faceshield. Every so often, someone comes around and yells at us, but the shields come right back off after they leave. they’re probably staying off for now. The people who made the executive decision that they need to be worn aren’t the ones who need to wear them.

Lucky you. Our school is very adamant at making us wearing face shield, even for non-aerosol procedures like exams. They give us the cheap-a** ones that would not work with our light and loupes, so some people have to shell out for the more expensive ones.

If the double vision goes on for a week, I would hit up the reps. Mine was double vision for a week and I sent them back and they came back perfect!
