OP, is UMass your state school?
Guessing so given you state proximity to boston is of importance.
Yes, it is!

Yeah, they're notoriously slow re admissions. I'm not sure early decision is a good idea because it screws you over for the other schools.
I know quite a few people with relatively high test scores here, so I wouldn't let that dissuade you. If you can express a commitment to being here through the cycle it will only help your case. Even the waitlist here moves quite a bit and I see this continuing even with the full out of state student inclusion.
Awesome, that's good to know!! I would love to go to UMass! I have honestly only heard good things. Haha I don't really wanna live in Worcester for 4 years, but I can accept it.
I'm definitely thinking I won't do early decision, just because it would just be so stressful to have to wait to apply to other schools if I don't get in.

Curious why you think that about Jeff?
There are worse places to live in than Worcester. It's not Boston, but it's grown on me. Your social life in school usually revolves on doing stuff with your classmates and there are plenty of things to do here if you want to go ham. I was pretty surprised, but hey...
There's no evidence to distinguish it from the other schools on the list such as GW, Temple, etc in terms of its yield for applicants like the OP.
Yeah, I've heard some parts of Worcester are cool and other parts are terrible. My brother went to Clark for undergrad and absolutely hated the area.
Do you know if it is feasible to commute from closer to Boston? Do you know anyone that does that? My SO works downtown and we plan to continue living together so that's my real issue with going to school in Worcester.
