Procedures in Nephrology

I am considering doing Internal Medicine after my fourth year. I spent some time doing Neph consults but I wasn't exposed to any procedures. Can someone please comment on the procedures in nephrology and the time required to do these procedures. Thanks

There really aren't many... Essentially the bulk is dialysis line placement and kidney biopsies. Some places offer an advanced course in tunneled line placement.

Kidney biopsies & dialysis catheters are the bulk of procedures in nephrology. As Stormreaver mentioned, U/S and Fluoro guided training for tunneled catheters is becoming more common as well.

Some programs are offering training in "interventional nephrology" where training for renal angiograms and RA angioplasty and stenting is being done. I don't know where or how prevalent these programs are.
