I was reading Iserson's today in order to prepare for upcoming interviews and I read that it's pretty common for interviewees to be told they will be ranked high enough to match and then come Match Day, they are surprised to find out they did not match there. I've heard rumors of this as well. Anyone know any real life stories about this happening or know what peds programs might tend to do this? It might save some of us some heartache if we know to take these promises with a grain of salt.
