I know this subject has been hashed through before on this forum - I did the search and read the old thread. But I thought it would be helpful to update this info since it seems to change year-to-year and the fourth years are starting the application/interview process. Its definately not the most important thing in a residency program (at least for me) but it is a nice bonus I think to get paid a little extra when you have the time. The University of Colorado, where I am at, does not allow moonlighting.

Hockey, thx for your PM info.

UAB? (somewhere in AL does)
CCF
Scott and White, TX

UTSW allows it both in house and outside the hospital. If your performance goes down or you suck on the in training exams and you will get sat down but otherwise it's free game.

I believe that UTHSC San Antonio allows you to take 8 hrs of backup call for $200 regardless of whether you get called in. Some other residents moonlight in the emergency center or other hospitals.
