Prometric Experiences???

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yes. In Tallahassee Florida. Really easy actually. Schedule your exam online with Prometric or over the phone after you paid the ADA.

The testing center just looked at driver's license and other ID really quickly, signed me in, gave me a locker key and put me at a computer. All in all, it took less than 5 minutes after I got there to start my test. I really wouldn't worry about the testing center. Most dont allow drinks or food. I recommend earplugs though if others are testing next to you. 🙂

thanks for the feedback...did they give u paper and pencil or the marker board??

I took the test at a prometric in Orlando and received the dry erase marker and marker board (actually just a sheet of laminated paper). The marker board definitely negatively affected my QR score because the marker they gave me sucked and I write small so I couldn't read what I was writing with the marker. I highly suggest you practice your QR writing with markers. At the testing center I went to, they provided sound isolation equipment which was comprised of large bright orange headphone looking things which looked dumb and were uncomfortable but I recommend you utilize them. Also, they do not allow you to take anything in the testing room including jackets or coats so dress warm if you are sensitive to cold.

Tallahassee has good old fashioned pencil and paper 🙂

Thats awesome!

On a side note though, this test is supposed to be standardized, and if different students are subjected to different conditions, then that theory of standardization goes completely wayward.

Oh, I totally agree! My friend took it there 2 weeks ago and the night before his exam we were joking how he was going to rough up the prometric lady at the desk if she didn't give him pencil and paper. After the exam he came over and was excited how he didn't have to deal with those markers. It definitely made me feel better since I'm taking my exam in a few weeks! But you have to admit, the standardization kinda goes out the window when some people get nice markers and others get those super huge, drying out ones! With the amount of money we spend on the exam, we should each get a brand spankin' new marker of our very own! haha 😉

Haha yeah. You are absolutely right, the amount of money we spend on the test should yield better materials. We should have ball-point-super-erasble-pens with gold pinstrips, and a ream of Dunder Mifflin paper coutesy of Michael Scott. 😛

Hi guys

Just quick question

If I call the test center and ask whether the computer is flat screen or whether they give me pencil or marker, do they answer my question?😛

HAHA you crack me up! Materials like that would make the experience so much better! I think we should write to the ADA and for being so ingenious, we should be compensated by getting automatic 30's!

d wannabe, there is never any hurt in trying to call and ask! The worst they could just say is "no". But I doubt they will be that mean...
