What happens when you complete it? Do you have time to review the questions you got wrong? Does it give you an estimated scaled-score?

I think you just get a print out of your percent correct. I'm taking it Wednesday morning so if no one else replies by then I let you know for sure sometime that afternoon.

You get a print out of percent correct by section and percent correct overall.

By section he means each of the blocks by the way. (not by subject) But yeah it is just a % correct. No reviewing the test. (though the questions are available online for free if you want to go through them after the test, you just won't know what you answered unless you remember)

Thanks - I guess I'm paying 42 dollars to somewhat desensitize myself from freaking out on the day of the real deal. I contemplated registering for the practice test which I will take Friday. It's obviously completely unnecessary, but I think it will be good just to sit in the room and get used to being next to some anxious foot-tapping person while I answer the 150 questions.

I took it today. I think it was a good experience, and that the test was on par with NBME 11 (difficulty wise).. My score was basically the same between each test (using medfiends to predict).

Good to know. I'm taking the practice exam on Saturday, which is 1 week before the real deal. When is your exam?

So I think they are all about the same. I've taken them all in the last 10 days.

It's nice to see 11 higher than UWSA 1 - a good prognostic indicator if you will 👍

Agreed, theres been all this talk about how hard it is, and about how UWSAs overestimate your score, so I'm always looking out for things like this.

btw, I was looking at doing the practice test as well, but when I went to sign up at prometrics website it asked for a registration or permit number or something like that. Is this just the same as your one for the actual thing or how does that work?

For the record, the free exam online is different than the one that you take at the prometric site. I just looked through it, and while there are quite a few identical questions, there are at least 15/block that are unique to the prometric exam.

You have to apply for a practice test permit through the nbme people before you can sign up for it.

Nope. I had to load it with my PC to see the questions/key.

Btw, I noticed that there were 50 questions per block on the practice test (also 50/block on the CBSE the school gave out earlier in the year) so I am wondering if this is how it will be on the real test. UWORLD only lets you do 46 at one time, so I was under the impression that the real deal would also be 46/block.

For the actual test, 46/block x 7 or 50/block x 7?

As I understand it is 46/block. (first aid says this, my school said this, etc.) I know that the NBME's and the computer practice test both had 50 which I personally thought was confusing. (I had the same reaction you did)
