This is what it says on their site:

  • A letter from a general dentist providing proof of at least 40 hours shadowing experience -please note this letter must include approximate number of hours
Are they talking about some sign in sheet or something..? I'm giving all my information to the dentist I shadowed with and I don't know if they want something like a sign in sheet..or if his word in the letter that I did 100 hours is sufficient..

I saw that after I turned my letter in and it didn't say I had 40 hours in it but they still invited me out to interview. You don't need a sign in sheet tho.

Same as kingenamel. I turned in the app and saw this requirement after submitting. You could ask the dentist who is writing you a LOR mention approximate shadowing hours.

Question -- Where should I send the letter to? Tufts or ADASAS? Tuft's website told us not to send anything directly to the office as it would cause significant delays, but when I called ADASAS they told me that my ADASAS application was complete and mailed and I should sent the shadowing letter to the schools directly... I am so confused...

I spoke with them and they said not to stress about it, if you're invited to interview and they are concerned about it they can email the dentist or something but it wouldn't exclude you from consideration.

Hi, kerfufle -- I got an email from them telling me that my application is incomplete because of the missing dentist letter. For ADASAS I have a committee letter, so ADASAS told me my application was complete and mailed. And in Tufts' email, it says not to send anything to the school directly... I also sent an email to the admissions office yesterday, but I haven't heard back yet. I am quite confused. Do you know if I should send it in now? Who should I send it to?! Thanks!

Call them. Faster than an e-mail. 🙂

I would call them like glimmer said, but just to clear things up I did have the dentist letter he just didn't specifically mention the hours I shadowed in it. I had to send in additional information and they just had me email it over, BUT they specifically told me to do this so I would get their permission before doing so.

Thank you both, Glimmer1991 and kerfufle! Called and they told me to send it to office directly! But I think I might also upload it to ADASAS just in case other schools also want it...
