Now I want the disclaimer: Do not lie on your apps

but just as a general inquiry when I applied to DO schools about 1.5 years ago, the application process was designed so that we had to report attending other medical schools.
How exactly do schools verify this ? Doesnt Ferpa prevent the school from disseminating information about student enrollment ?

What? I’m confused as to exactly what you want to know.. schools ask for your entire academic profile and prior enrollment, and dismissal or voluntary unenrollment, in any school is part of that profile. It is completely legal for them to verify previous enrollment and definitely not a FERPA violation.

Nope.

I was just curious because I am on my way to taking some form of LOA next week for about a year and considering transferring DO schools by reapplying,

If you were to post this in the Caribbeans thread, even they would say this is an atrocious plan.

Why not continue with your current school?

My school doesnt shine under the radar for being a garbage school but this years class is pretty disgusting with the amount of drama we have. It feels like being in high school with who f*ed whos girlfriend/boyfriend last night or who keyed each others cars. Weve had atleast 3 fist fights break out between classmates , 2 were at bars that I watched. One kid went around stalking random people from class and sending fake murder messages to girls/guys. I dont want to reveal my school's name just yet until I smoothen my own choices of if I ultimately do want to be a doctor or not, because i may very well end up in this crack pot hole again (Im currently on LOA) .

I feel the credits are a bit too much for me to handle too. There are a few lighter programs . And then professors, our professors just all around suck. After an insightful discussion with Goro, I do understand medical school will be a lot of self learning , but I need a little more time to do so.

And finally Ill say Im sort of in the middle of no where- and it would take 2-3 hours for me to reach civilization . It does take a bit of a toll on your mental health because even when I do well on exams I am unable to actually relax since the only things I can really do is go to walmart or the gas station or a few fast food restaurants.

Whether you're a troll or not, I will definitely admit there is way too much drama in serious professions such as medicine.

I've experienced this in many professions where you'd think it shouldn't exist.

Can you Pm me the name of the school. Middle of nowhere is where i have applied a lot. As a matter of fact, most of the schools i have applied to are in the middle of nowhere, but i did so because i liked their mission. However, if you think your school is a dead end. I would like to avoid it if possible.

Im not a troll and I really dont get why someone called me one, but I dont want to spend time arguing when I could be use that time doing something productive like trying to find out my other options or making my next move which is why I didnt respond to them.
Sometimes life does throw a lot of bad things at you at the worst times possible and this semester Ive definitely faced some new things like depression or getting dumped literally the night before an exam. Nothing too debilitating but definitely makes an already busy schedule even more difficult
Anyway, yeah lots of drama. This school makes it even worse. I just want to consider applying to other programs and have a change of environment at least.

I prefer not to, just keep updating your acceptances , Ill notify you if your school crosses my list.
one thing Ive learned from my ordeal is you definitely will almost never find your dream school. every school has its issues , bad professors etc. Some schools are worse than others.
The best thing you can do is expect the worst, hope for the best.
I will admit I did come in feeling a bit like a special snowflake since I did well on my MCAT and had a pretty decent GPA for my major.
Once you get into medical school, youre on the same playing field for the most part as all of your peers. Never forget that.
