just out of curiosity, how would schools verify every single EC activity? i estimated the hours for activities that i've been a part of since high school, but..the hours are rough estimates... i'd be fine to talk about them during an interview, but.. would dental schools just take my word for it in terms of the time that i put in and that i was in fact doing these activities (btw, the activities are over 800 hours)?

I'm not sure about verifying, but I think they only want to see the ECs you've done since college? Someone else will have to back me up there.

i'd like to preface this by saying i have no idea what i'm talking about.

the school you're applying to wants to see the activities you did in the school you attended preceding your application.

college: wants high school stuff
dental school: wants college stuff
specialty: wants dental school stuff

they dont care (or want) to see your stuff from more than 4yrs.

thank you.

No schools asked for proof from me. However, at the interviews they may ask you detailed questions about certain extracurriculars. And if the interviewer has experience in that specific extracurricular activity, he/she would likely be able to tell if you made it up. This is another reason you should review your application before interviews. At one of my interviews I couldn't remember a detail about an extracurricular activity that the interviewer had specific knowledge about and it made me look really bad. I did the activity and could have verified it if asked, but still, just make sure you can talk in detail about your extracurricular activities.

they take your word for it, but if they need to verify it and fail to do so, then they'll simply rescind their offer 🙂

i wouldnt worry about this since ECs are soft factors and schools dont have the time or money to verify everyones info when it comes to ECs.

No they don't verify it nt from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using Tapatalk
