Given the latest news stories about GW's academic probation and the Washington Post article that has been floating around this website about how they have not been completely honest about the reasons for their probation, I am wondering if, given multiple acceptances, if anyone could share convincing reasons to go to this school whose reputation seems to be on the line?

Right now, what are the pros of GW's med school?

lol, it's kind of funny that this post has no replies..

yup, i was wary about the probation at first until i interviewed. it's a great place. the location really caters to a bunch of opportunities you wouldn't get elsewhere (that is, if you're into the whole politics and healthcare policy stuff). you get to do some really cool stuff on capitol hill if you seek them out. plus, the area is pretty amazing, it's washington dc!

with that said... yes... it carries a hefty price tag, something like 188k average debt after graduation

To the OP and others on this thread, it seems that most threads debating the merits of one school vs. another are being started in the main pre-allo forum. (Not that it's totally logical, but just saying ...)

There are several threads in pre-allo right now involving GW. Most of the people posting on them have no idea what they're talking about, but I did see a couple of actual GW students who are open to PMs if you want more info.

Anything that costs that much HAS to be good.
