What are the pros and cons of getting your masters degree on top of your doctor of optometry?

im doing a masters right now, strictly to use the success during this program to get my admission ticket to school, which i got finally

other than that, i really don't see a benefit of obtaining a masters in addition to an O.D.

a pHD or something? maybe, if you wanna work your way up to like a dean of a school or something
