2nd year IM resident here.
My interest is pulmonary medicine.
I like the ICU, but definitely dont crave it nor am fan of the lifestyle.
There are a few pulmonary only fellowships in the nation. What are your opinions about someone doing that alone. Obviously, when it comes to hiring I will be considered a weaker candidate than someone that is pulmonary critical care trained, however I want to do mainly clinic, outpatient medicine, inpatient pulm consults, bronchoscopies and possibly interventional bronch (if i can make it that far).
Also will I have time to moonlight during fellowship? How draining is it?
Thanks
