When you apply to medical school, how do you prove your course had a lab component? Some of my pre-reqs have the lab and lecture together, and the course is just called "General Chemistry" and worth 4 credits. Organic is the same way I've noticed - just says Organic Chemistry I, 4 credits. No separate grade for the lab. Nowhere on med school applications (allopathic or osteopathic) did I see it ask if lab was included...so how do I prove my courses had a lab if it's not separate?

Same thing happen at my uni. when they started Gen. Chem Honors.. it was a 4 credit course..... but the course code is ####C ... the C means the lecture and lab was put together.

I suppose blind. I def. didn't see it on the AACOMAS though (Osteopathic application).

Also - has anyone ever taken their lab component separate, later?

Well, I took a pre-req course at my undergrad that didn't have the lab component, which was a separate course. I didn't realize I wanted to go to medical school until after I graduated, so now I will have to take the lab, and only the lab, at another school. Is that weird? Will it look bad taking the lab at a lesser ranked school?

Which pre-req was it? If you took the lecture component, I don't understand why you wouldn't have taken the lab component immediately after as well. It is strange. Can you take it over the summer at your school or have you moved to a different area? Either way, realize that the lab component is going to be more challenging now than it would've been if you'd taken it earlier.
