From the July 24th MCAT, it seemed to me that AAMC is in the process of making the test a level playing field for everybody (even if you have not taken a prep class).
What this means is very little memorization, very few calculations, and ALOT of comprehension. Their goal is to place you in seven unfamiliar situations (for each section), under stress and time constraints, and test your ability to keep calm and persevere.
That is precisely why you will find many posts saying the test was nothing like AAMC nor kaplan. Use the practice tests as a tool for evaluating your timing, but do not expect them to feel like the actual test.
