The Society of Canadians Studying Medicine Abroad (SOCASMA) recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). SOCASMA is a not for profit Canadian organization with the mandate of advocating for the elimination of barriers that prevent Canadians who study medicine abroad from returning home to practice medicine in Canada.

Mentioned at the AGM was that SOCASMA will be hosting a free Zoom Student Information Meeting on December 28th at 5 pm Pacific time SOCASMA. The meeting will focus on how the system works and strategies for matching in Canada and the US. To attend, Message them on Facebook, or email them at [email protected]. Your contact info is needed for them to send you a meeting link and resource information.
Finally, they announced at their AGM that they are trying to build and expand their volunteer student representative network. They ask that if you are interested in being their contact person at your school, you let their President Rosemary Pawliuk know at [email protected].
