Anyone else waiting for Penn State to update their application status...I submitted my secondary 3 weeks ago and my letters were uploaded around the same time but this message keeps showing up on the status page:

"Our records indicate that your Secondary Application has been received, but it has not been determined whether your application is complete or not at this time. Once that determination has been made, you will be notified via email."

How long does it take them to update the application of the status?

The deal with Penn State is that they determine completion in the order that things are received - the exact order that it's received. I think last year, I submitted pretty late and wasn't complete for almost two months.

I got a letter from them a while ago... I'm pretty sure it means I'm on hold, but I could be wrong. Eh.

I submitted my PSU secondary on 7/30, the same day my school uploaded my LORs via VE. I still have the same message as the OP.

Heh. I got put on "death hold" at PSU last year after my interview in March. I got in off the waitlist at another school in June, so I wasn't going anywhere else anyway, but yesterday, I finally got my rejection letter from PSU.

Name on the front was right, name on the heading was right - including my name, which is definitely a girl's name.

How long does it take them to update the application of the status?

The earliest that they'd update your status is the day you receive the "you're complete" email. If you haven't gotten the email, then don't expect the status to change.

For me, I got the email on 7/30 and they still didn't update the page for a while after that. Now it finally says my application is being reviewed by the admissions committee.

I submitted the secondary sometime in the last week of July, was verified on Aug. 13th, and my last LOR arrived on the 13th, as well....SILENCE. And yet I'm complete at Boston, where the LORs arrived on the same day, and the secondary was submitted later than the one at PSU.

*sigh*


I whined about it today to a friend of mine who applied and was accepted there last year (didn't go, though), and she said that even though she didn't submit her stuff till NOVEMBER, she was reviewed within 2 days after being complete....so hopefully we can all be complete soon and have some sort of idea of where we stand by the end of this month.

I just got confirmation of a complete status but that was after I contacted a preceptor of mine from there about my application status because I spent part of the summer there and was wondering why my applicaiton wasn't complete after 4 weeks. I think they just take a while to update but they had had my letters since 7/25.

i submitted my secondary towards the end of july, and got the complete letter a few days ago.
