Quick question, what is the process like to get one of my psych courses to be counted as a biology course. My "brain and behavior" was basically all biology and anatomy of the brain and the nervous system. How do i get it counted as a biology course, and how do i appeal if it doesn't get verified?

I think I read somewhere that someone just put it under Biology (or science) and they did count it once they checked it.
Like they'll choose whether or not it's science when they check your transcript - but I feel that it's likely that they'll forever leave it non-science if you just put it under non-science.

It appears to have >50% content related to hard science, so I think you'd be fine claiming it's BIO. Save the on-line links to the information you provided to us, in case your classification is challenged (not copy and paste).

if i claim it as a bio course and its challenged, how do i send them the information? do i have to upload a syllabus or something?

Excerpts from the 2018 AMCAS Instruction Manual:

Course Classification p 39
Each course must be assigned a course classification based strictly on the primary content
of the course. The course classifications listed on the Course Classification Guide are
bolded and are titled as they appear in the course classification drop-down list. The items
beneath each bolded heading are examples of courses for which you should select that
bolded course classification. You are responsible for selecting the correct course
classification, but AMCAS reserves the right to change classifications if the assigned
classification clearly does not apply. If you disagree with a change AMCAS has made to a
courses classification you may submit an Academic Change Request.

Academic Change Requests p 9
AMCAS requires that you review verified coursework and GPA information. If you find
discrepancies, or you disagree with changes made during the verification process, you
must submit an Academic Change Request to be reviewed by AMCAS. After the review,
the request can either be granted or denied. The Academic Change Request option is
available on the right side of the Main Menu.
To submit an Academic Change Request,
select one of the following reasons:
 Re-compute the following GPA/hours
 Re-verify the following courses
 Add the following courses
 Delete the following courses
 Update the following school information
In the accompanying text block, please be specific about your request and explain in detail
why you are requesting this change to your AMCAS application. Multiple requests may
be entered in the text block.
If granted, AMCAS will change or correct:
 GPA
 Academic Status
Course Classification: When requesting a course classification change, please
copy and paste the course description from the school's website and include the
URL where it can be found.

(the other 12 reasons are omitted for brevity)

If the detailed syllabus helps support your opinion, you can include that link too, if the course description alone isn't detailed enough to support your choice.

sounds as it might be ok for BCPM

I was a psych major in undergrad, and a lot of my courses were science/bio focused.

They gave me some of them as BCMP (Neurophysiology, Senses/Perception) but others they changed back to psych.

Thats totally a science course and mirrors my "Biological Basis of Behavior." I found the class to be dull...maybe a proffesor issue.
