It's the first week of the quarter and, last night, I dropped a history class... the workload was just too much for me this quarter. Anyway, I had to sign up for another class to have a good amount of units. Of course, almost everything is full at this point or doesn't fit into my schedule. However, I did find a class: Introduction to Psychobiology. The class doesn't fulfull anything because all of my science reqs are already completed; I enrolled because it fit my schedule (and it is a really cool class!)...

Should this class be included in my BPCM GPA when I am applying to med schools?

I think it should count...any science course should count. At least of what I know. Anybody, correct me if I'm wrong.

BTW, I PMed you.

Thanks for the info! 🙂

I replied to your PM. 😀

psychobiology is a psychology class and not part of BCPM

Not true. I listed psychobio 15 (intro to psychobio) and it was counted in my BCPM.

At my school, we get bio and psych credit for both "Brain and Behavior" and "Biology and Psychology of Perception". I listed both. If your school gives you biology credit then you should add it to your BCPM. But if it only gives psychology credit, I think it would not count.

hmm. i took the same course and it's listed under BESS on my amcas app.

my suggestion to OP, if you do well, include it in whatever category of GPA you want a little higher. looks like Grijalva's the prof. he was my instructor and he's cool. good luck and enjoy, it's a pretty fun course!

Call AMCAS and ask them. I took Ecology (got environmental science credit for it) and didn't list it as BCMP on the recommendation of AMCAS. When they reviewed my transcipts, they moved it to BCMP. It's all very mysterious.

It counts, it is a great class, and Grijalva is indeed a good prof.
