hey im thinking about doing either a bio major or a psychology major and dont know which one to pick...to be honest, im not really interested in either, psychology seems much eaiser than biology, and i took a few psyc classes and did really well in them. i know your supposed to choose somthing your intrested in, but to be honest, my school doesnt offer any intresting majors.

do dental schools really care at all about your major?? as long as i complete the pre reqs, whats the point in doing a science major, other than hitting 2 birds with one stone?

Depends. Some say that an astronomical GPA, regardless of the courses you took, is the best thing. I tend to agree with this. If your pre-req GPA is super high along with your sGPA and overall GPA all you gotta do is crush the DAT and you're in. Now, if you did all that while taking a hardcore major at a tier 1 school...even better!

Pick the major you are most interested in.

I went to a dental thing at the University of Minnesota and there was a Q&A session with some of the dental students. Each of the dental students introduced themselves with their name, major, etc. and one of them said that she had an art degree. In summary, what your major is isn't the most important thing as long as you have all of your pre-reqs done.

Well, than don't do either. You're young right, you have time to take a variety of different classes at your school to find a major you're passionate about.

True, they don't care, as long as your grades are there.

I was a Sociology major. If you are taking the pre-reqs anyway, at least make the rest of your classes be as interesting to you as possible. You'll get enough science classes once you are in dental school.

My orthodontist told me "they'll teach you what they want you to know when you get there"
