Hi all, this is my first thread so go easy on me!

I am currently a Brain and Behavioral Sciences major at Purdue University. At other schools it is called Behavioral Neuroscience. My major is in the college of Health and Human Sciences and is considered to be apart of the psychology department (however, it is more science based and there is a separate major for just psychology). I already know that psychology is not generally included onto your science GPA but on the AMCAS website it also states that neuroscience classes are included onto the science GPA.

Some of my behavioral neuroscience include PSY 222 Introduction to Behavioral Neuroscience, PSY 429 Hormones and Behavior, PSY 519 Introduction to Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, etc...

My question is will these be included onto the science GPA? I am have trouble differentiating whether it is determined at science or non-science.

I found this link for Boston College (http://www.bc.edu/schools/cas/psych/undergrad/opportunities/premed.html) which lists a number of psychology classes that will count as science GPA classes and now I'm even more confused.

AADSAS course subjects are posted below. Despite the course prefix, I would list them as Biology under

Brain and Behavior (Any Dept.)
Cognitive Psychology (Any Dept.)
Cognitive Science
Neuropsychology (Any Dept.)
Neuroscience

and AADSAS will change if necessary during verification.

They changed all my psych ones back to non-science, similar to yours, a couple behavioural neuro courses, cognitive, etc.

Who changed the courses back? AADSAS/TMDSAS or specific schools?

I've been reading around and apparently TMDSAS is more strict on which PSY classes and are less likely to count them towards science GPA. Which as a Texan leaves me in a rut... I was planning on taking a fairly easy spring semester since I plan on taking the DAT in May but this is also my last chance to raise my GPA. I was planning on taking 14 credits:

BIOL 241/242 Genetics and Molecular Biology with Lab - 5 credit
CHM 256/25501 Organic Chemistry II with Lab - 4 credit
PSY 429 Hormones and Behavior - 3 credit
+ 2 credits of french

I feel like hormones and behavior would count as an endocrinology class and I am confident that I can get a good grade in it but I'm not sure if I should risk taking it if it may not count towards my science GPA. Does anyone have any advice?

This whole thing is a hassle. I think I may just leave out psychology classes from science GPA altogether. Dental schools won't go back and change it to science will they? Lol :eyebrow:

This may be off topic but do Global Health classes that are part of the biology department count towards the Science GPA?

Psychopharmacology would also count.
