Hey everyone,
I have been accepted to Cleveland State University and the University of Indianapolis and am having a tough time deciding on which to attend. Does anyone have any insight on these schools? Cleveland State is quite a bit cheaper, which is a positive, but I was wondering if there is anything else that would be valuable to know about these schools before I make a decision. Thanks!

As long as both have pass rates of >90% for the boards, then go with the cheaper option.

Cleveland State University is approximately 70k compared to the University of Indianapolis being approximately 105k.

Doesn't seem like a hard decision to me...that's $35k difference

You shouldn't look at tuition point blank for what will be cheaper. Consider the financial aide and scholarships offered to you as well as cost of living in the surrounding area. These factors can definitely tip the scales. Also think about where you'd be happier, if you haven't visited both campuses I suggest doing so to see how you feel in each setting. Also look at the schedules and where clinicals are offered, if they have a community clinic, if they do research, how many students drop the program, how often faculty leave. Indianapolis has better ratings, that me be for a good reason or for reasons that don't matter to you. In the end it's up to you and it's a personal decision, money is not the only factor and it is not a trivial choice. Find out everything you can, either way congratulations on your acceptances and being a future PT!

Yes, listen to the pre-PT student over the PT student- surely they know what they're talking about!

CSU starts in January 2020, and UIndy starts in August 2019. UIndy is also an 8 semester curriculum, whereas CSU is a 9 semester curriculum. So overall it seems like the money thing would even out for the most part. I would be making money as a PT much quicker if I went to UIndy, or I could just find a job in that 6 month or so gap between graduating and starting PT school at CSU.
