The PT school I want to go to does not require chem 2. However, I want to apply to other schools just in case I don't get admitted. I've realized very few only require chem 1. Does anyone know of schools that don't require chem 2 or would accept me even if this was a pre-req at their school? I need some advice!

Schools participating in PTCAS that require only one chemistry course are Alabama State, Elon, Midwestern University, University of New Mexico, and UNC Chapel Hill.

No school will admit you if you do not complete their listed prerequisites (or approved substitutes) by the time of matriculation. You could apply to schools you are interested in that require Chem II without having taken the course, and then if you are admitted and decide to attend you could take Chem II in either spring or summer before your program starts.

A word of caution here: check the schedule for each school, and not just its requirements. For ex., UNC requires you to finish all the pre-reqs by the end of the Fall semester of the year before you'd start PT school: you have to finish all the pre-reqs by Dec 2011, if you want to enter PT school in Aug 2012. And since UNC doesn't start interviewing until Jan 2012, the wait-and-see strategy would not work in this case.
