I have a couple of questions.

First, after your transcripts are verified are you able to select which courses count towards your prereq/science GPA?
For example, I have taken 3 Psych courses. Am I able to choose the 2 with the best grades to count towards my GPA?

Second, who all put 'No' for the question, "Does your academic record accurately reflect your capabilities?"

Thanks!

I applied the last cycle. For the first question, yes you are able to pick what courses count towards which pre-reqs before your transcripts are verified. You can edit that anytime before submitting applications.

I put No for that academic capabilities question! I actually got a C in anatomy (yikes), but I didnt think this was representative of my actual performance in that course. I did great on the first, third, and final exams but completely blew the second exam. That brought my grade down to a C and even though I got a 93% on those last two exams, it wasnt enough to pull my grade back up. Exams were the only component of that course so I explained how I changed my study habits after that second exam and what I did differently to do well again on the last two exams.

You assign prereqs to courses you’ve taken for each program you’re applying for and you can do that before they’re verified!

I also put “no” for that question. I struggled a lot during my freshman year of college due to an undiagnosed mental illness, which led to my grades being not what they should. My sophomore year I was back on track, but right as spring finals were about to begin I was told my grandmother was being moved to hospice and that my dog had died and those two things together really distracted me from my studies which led to me doing awful on my finals which negatively impacted my grades that semester.

I put "no" as well, and explained my situation. 4 out of 5 schools accepted me (the one that did not had rolling admissions, and I submitted less than an hour before their deadline, so I wouldn't call it a surprise that I wasn't able to swing a spot there- always apply early to rolling admissions!), so I'd say a "no" doesn't hurt your chances. It's reasonable to answer that way, and honestly I'd be more surprised to see a "yes" on that question, although if someone can answer "yes" honestly, I think that's amazing.
