Hey Guys,

I Have a difficult choice on figuring out which degree I want to pursue before I get my Master of Public Health : Focus: Health Services Administration. I'm contemplating if I choose Public administration or Business Administration with a minor in Information systems for either major.

My plan is to major in either of those majors and find a solid entry job for 1-3 years so I can help pay the tuition for pursing in attaining my Health Services administration.

If this helps, what I'm trying to become health policy specialist/analyst (I don't mind become health administrator tho). I realize that with business administration you gain management, economic skills, financial skills but with public administration you gain ways to implement policy.

Now, I know the job demand for business careers are lot more significant higher than public administration because public administration usually needs a concentration. I live in Washington DC area if that helps.

To sum it up, I need a solid job to help pay my tuition fees for my MPH.

I'm open to any suggestions you guys provide.

Are you talking about your undergrad major here (Public Admin / Business Admin)? If so, it really doesnt matter in terms of grad school admissions - so pick what your most interested in.

If you're primarily interested in policy work, than you may also want to look at MPP programs down the line (in addition to the MPH). Also, check out an MHS program with a health policy focus. Hopkins has a great program for that.
