Public Speaking course. Is it really necessary?

If you think a 98 Civic gets off the line "fast" you've never driven a real car with real torque, including that 350Z. All they do is make noise.

You can't even make max torque with those ricer engines until 7,000 RPM.

I will say this... for the first FIFTY FEET, most cars are about the same in terms of speed. I mean, consider the difference between a $130,000 Corvette ZR1 and my Cali Special Mustang. 0.3 seconds difference between them to 35 MPH. Now, to 60, different story. And a LOT different to 150, and so on.

So I guess it's *possible* for 50 feet your Civic would launch the same as my 'Stang, but that's being awfully generous, since Civics, like most ricer imports, are gutless, noise making annoyances.

I like American cars also, but it seems like the manufacturers always neglect the handling aspect of the car and they don't seem to understand that lightweight is better. The only American car that I would buy is a Corvette.

I'm glad my car goes up to only 110. It keeps me from developing possibly dangerous habits from temptation

Sparda, have you ever driven a manual? You could have made a video about how to drive a manual  That could be an informative speech. You could do each step, pause it to explain to the audience, and then resume on your video

Who needs light and curvy? I get to blast from 0-65/70 way, way, way more often than I'm ever circling a track or taking tight corners. Maybe in some parts of the U.S. that'd be useful but no where I ever am.

As far as the Vette goes, no thanks. That interior is total garbage.

The interior of an A4 pwns the interior of the ZR1:laugh:

Yes, my Volkswagen CC is a manual. I will never go back to automatic. Maybe, just maybe a DSG but I love manual transmission.

MOST interiors pwn the ZR1. It seems like Chevy intentionally uses parts bin bullcrap for almost the entire thing. The seats suck, the carpet sucks, the radio stack sucks, etc. The only cool thing about the Vette's interior is the huge speedometer and tachometer. I love that thing.

Heh, I feel the same way, except when I'm in bumper to bumper 5-mph traffic and constantly having to switch gears and feather the clutch. That gets pretty trying on my knee, but I guess if Uncle Sam hadn't gifted me with a bum ass knee, it wouldn't be that much of a deal.

I deal with bumper to bumper traffic pretty much every morning. It's not really annoying for me because when there is traffic, I just sit there and allow a 5-7 car gap to open up in front of me. When the gap is open, I let the turbo spool up, launch, and then hit the breaks. Makes the commute more fun. 😀

Except when some *******s start entering the gap that I'm allowing to build up in front of me. :bang:
