Where did you guys put down the list of publications (sceince journal) in your AADSAS application? under extracurricular or under research experience?

Also if you played musical intrument but was not involved in orchestra/band, do you still put it in your AADSAS application? if so under which section? under EC? But, I noticed that under EC, it asks you the name of organization, etc so I am not sure whether I should put musical stuff under EC

Publications would definitely be under research experience... for obvious reasons.

In the application, there is a section titled "Background" and it asks something along the lines of "what activities have you participated or do you participate in that demonstrate manual dexterity"... that would be the place to mention that you played a musical instrument. If your experience playing this instrument was only cursory, I'd be careful how you list it b/c there have been stories where interviewers had the person play an instrument (like a piano or guitar) just to make sure they weren't full of ****.

Claiming that you played an instrument is one thing... claiming that you were proficient enough in it to say that it proves manual dexterity is another. If you play(ed) an instrument and you sucked... well how does that show manual dexterity? Then again... I am clearly biased.
