Looking to submit a looong-standing backburner project to a low-impact, but up & coming journal (impact factor between 1 and 5 at this point). Too many holes in the study, too little time & lack of support "enthusiasm gap" to push this up a level. Does anyone have any experience with Amegroups? China-based, but solid editorial board, pubmed listed right away (no delay) and reasonable processing charges.

My concern isn't that this is a predatory journal (it is not), but more that the project gets published in an up & coming journal, so even if the publication doesn't look super-hot on my CV now, it may improve in 5-10 years.
PS: I remember when PlosONE used to be thought this way, so I realize it's a double-edged sword. At one point, I considered Cureus, but no longer (though I'd love to hear your thoughts on them too).
