Hey everyone!
I have a quirky question and was wondering if any of you have been in this position. One of the docs I've been seeing lately for a particular medical condition is a DO and I've talked to him pretty extensively about applying to medical school. He told me he would write me an LOR for my osteopathic applications. I was wondering if that's crossing the line, though, since he has seen a LOT more of me than any of my other letter-writers (if you know what I mean). Then again, there aren't a lot of DOs where I live and I am wondering if I can afford not to take him up on the offer.
The other question I have is, I took last year's August MCAT and wound up with an 11V-8B-5P-R. I will be re-taking this August but was wondering if there's generally a cut-off (like, "no scoring below a 7 on any section") deal for osteopathic schools. I got four allopathic interviews and one waitlist last round, and all of them kind of laughed in my face about the 5. So I am just curious.
