Does anyone know about how long it takes to hear from the school about interviews/rejections?
In an email I received from them they said in December they will be in contact regarding your application status which will be either “offer interview” or “no longer under consideration”. Other than that they will contact you only if they have questions about your app!
I received my interview invite on December 15thDoes anyone know about how long it takes to hear from the school about interviews/rejections?
I'm applying for Fall too! IS and first time applicant.

Can any current students explain the purpose of the required laptop to me? Are we limited to that computer solely for note taking?
Guess I can't really comment on the purpose but you will basically use your laptop for everything. I know it sucks if you already have a nice computer but I will say I do really like our laptops (we use Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 370). It'll have OneNote on it which is what we use to take notes and everything. You'll have a 4 year warranty on it. We have an IT department in the building so whenever something goes wrong with the computer you can go see them.
I‘m in pre-vet club at Purdue. They told us the laptop they require changes year to year so it’s the most up to date. It might be the same type of laptop or something similar?Guess I can't really comment on the purpose but you will basically use your laptop for everything. Sorry I'm super late but OOS first time applicant!

From what I've seen from the classes below and above me it'll be the same brand and type but it will be the most up to date version.
I think they said ~1700Is there any idea how many applicants Purdue received this cycle?

Oops sorry! Accidentally replied in the wrong forum. No Purdue hasn’t interviewed yet! But I believe I read they had ~1700 applicants. I was thinking I was commenting on LMU’s forumDid you already have your interview??

Also OOS and I’ve heard nothing. Looking at the 2023 interview invite thread, looks like they heard 12/15.

I’m an IS applicant and I’m currently an animal science pre-vet student at Purdue. Lots of the undergrads at my school get vet experience by volunteering or working at the vet hospital. One of my friends works the front office. She said that when apps come in they eliminate the bulk of applicants by looking to see if pre reqs were met. They automatically remove their app before ad coms even see them. Saturday December 16th is when Purdue’s finals are over. I think they send out invites when finals is over for our school campus wide. I’d expect the first round of invites and acceptances will be sent out the 16th. They were sent out on the Saturday finals ended last year.
This is a theory not a fact, but I think they do it this way to prevent comparison and competitive behavior amongst prevet students. 20-25 percent of the ANSC graduates in the current class get into vet school each year. Through my time in pre-vet club and ANSC they really tried to build us to work together. That Saturday everyone is gone from campus and it prevents more heart ache and drama.I’m an IS applicant and I’m currently an animal science pre-vet student at Purdue. Coming from undergrad at a school where interview invitations always went out during dead week, this sounds like an infinitely better system and I’m pretty jealous haha. This is a theory not a fact, but I think they do it this way to prevent comparison and competitive behavior amongst prevet students. 20-25 percent of the ANSC graduates in the current class get into vet school each year. Asch97: On their website they say we should hear from them by mid December. Which I guess will be right after finals.

Anyone know if we should we be hearing back this week or next regarding interviews?
Hello! I'm a third year at Purdue. Not sure when interview invites will be sent out but probably sometime next week. From what I've heard this year they have had the most applicants they have ever received, but don't remember the estimate they told us, I think it was around 1800 or so but not positive. The two interview days this year will be January 24th and January 31st.

You don’t think they’ll send out Saturday like they have the past few years?Hello! I'm a third year at Purdue. Not sure when interview invites will be sent out but probably sometime next week. Did the interview dates change as well? I saw something different on the website.
Are interview requests sent out all at once? So if you don’t get an email about it you know you were rejected most likely?
Ok I found the interview site! Last time I checked I could have sworn the dates were different, but interviews def are the last two Fridays in January 🙂
