Hi everyone! Congrats on acceptances. I have a dog shirt size large and a ceramic mug that I bought and ended up choosing a different school. I'd hate for them to go in the trash but it makes me kinda sad to look at them lol so I'm looking to sell them. Together, they were almost $40 but I'll give them both for $30. below are the links, message me if you want them!

Anyone else on the purdue OOS waitlist get an email this morning asking if you were still interested??

I know I'm a bit late here (things have been pretty crazy), but if you haven't found someone to talk to, I'm more than willing 🙂 I'm a current student. Not exclusively focused on exotics myself but I interact with a few people who are.
 
Dean Reed called me at 4:30 today and I missed his call!! 😱🙁 I guess I’ll have to wait till tomorrow. 😢The suspense is gonna kill me:nailbiting::nailbiting:

Purdue has been top choice from the beginning but I've decided to accept both offers for now. I'm afraid to make a definite decision so quickly, especially since I was in the middle of sending my deposit to MSU when I noticed the call. Maybe it was a sign, but I want to take some time to really weigh my options... and see my financial aid packages.
 
I got a call with an offer from the OOS waitlist yesterday. I’m very sadly declining, so good luck to the next person on the list. Purdue is a great place!!

I think i’m in the same boat as you. I jusy got accepted to both msu and purdue today! I was also accepted to virginia-maryland yesterday. I am very conflicted. Till yesterday i thought i was going to pick MSU. I kinda gave up on purdue because of the uncertainty with the unranked waitlist!!! So I just have to really think about it!! It is hard to select because they are all great schools!! Congrats 🙂

Thank you! And congrats to you as well. It is a very hard choice but at least we were blessed enough to have a choice.
 
Are you able to hold onto more than one acceptance if you’re pulled off the waitlist? I thought on April 15th you had to pick but maybe it’s different if you’re pulled off a waitlist?

Are you able to keep both acceptances after April 15th? I'm wondering because I have been accepted to one school and waitlisted at the other and am wondering if I get pulled of the waitlist how much time I'll have to make a final decision?

You can but I think you lose your deposit at the school you decline

You will get it once you submit your deposit! So probably tomorrow if you haven't already gotten it.

Nothing yet! Hopefully soon! Just curious, Is there like a group chat or something for acceptees to chat in? I know some schools have that!

Yes, I've had it for about a month now and you're not missing anything. They sent the financial award email to it again but I'm pretty sure it was the same as the previous email I had gotten.
 
Just got a call from Dean Reed, OOS waitlist accepted. Declined it because I'll be going to another school. So he should be calling someone else
 
The co 2024 Facebook group only has about 70 members at this point...not to get anyone's hopes up (not every one has Facebook ) but there could still be a few spots open
 
What is the driving time limit for living arrangements? 15 mins, 30 mins? I found a place 19 mins always I wanted to make sure that would be ok

For the first two/three years, there really is no limit. A few of my classmates even drive an hour to an hour and a half for classes. I live about twenty minutes away at the moment and have no difficulties, but I am moving within walking distance this year. Fourth year clinicals is when you are supposed to be within a certain distance of the school (I want to say 15 minutes).

Yeah, @emw91 distance the first 3 years is up to you but make sure you think about your study/lifestyle when making a decision of where to live. Sometimes classes are canceled or a "scheduled wellness day" etc. Second year you will also have some 2 hour gaps between lab sections. I have loved being able to go home during those times or even during the lunch hour to be with my pets, unwind, and/or study at home. I live 7-10 minutes away depending on traffic. If you live 20 minutes away you can expect to spend all of your lunch hours at school and much more likely to spend your random spare midday time at school as well. I personally feel being able to get away from school has significantly helped me mentally. 😉

I hadn’t even thought of that, thank you! I would definitely prefer going home in-between things. I found a place 7 mins away, I’m going to look further into that one. I also ask because I’ll have 4 small animals with me, so I’m hoping to not move during the 4 years
 
I realize anything and everything might be delayed this year, but when does Purdue generally send out a list of materials we will need for first year?
