So in my month+ of being complete i've been asked to do 1 interview, and its not my first choice. I was wondering can i send a letter of intent to my or do anything else to get more interviews.

BTW my #1 is NYMC, i live 10 minutes away and spent a summer doing research there. (good reasons/exposure i would think)

Let me know if it works, I've been complete at NYMC since 8/1 and nothing.

hey guys- I'm a first year here at NYMC. Mired in finals week. Yikes but I just wanted to toss ya guys some advice- be aggressive if the school you want to go to is your #1 and you haven't heard by now. I personally didn't do it for NYMC but I did for other schools and was suprised by the results.

I called schools I was strongly interested in interviewing at (Temple and Vermont) and was granted interviews. Didn't work at some other schools where I was a reach but I would try it for NYMC if you feel your numbers are at about average and higher. You might want to also think of sending a letter of interest (hold off on the intent until after you interview- personally I think it's less effective until post-interview) to the Director of Admissions- Carolyn Chiarieri. She's really nice and easily approachable. I dont know if they allow this because they might be busy but I've hear of people calling and scheduling meetings with the directors of admissions to explain their interest in attending X school.

Sometimes- the receptionists will be the hardest people to get thru to get to the director. They're there to screen and take messages, not be your advocate for your application. If you're getting blocked by them, try contacting the admissions dean/director directly via email. Maybe send that letter of intent via email and then snail mail to make sure she gets it.

Caroyln's email is [email protected]. Good luck!

what do you mean u called schools? liek u actually called the admissions office and told them that you are really interested in the school and blah blah?

can you elaborate please?

Well like I said- sending the letter of interest really helps. I've never done this before but I've heard of people trying to schedule meetings with the director of admissions. A lot of people force the issue too by calling and letting schools know that they'll be in the area for another interview and was hoping to get one from them, to save money and time.

Much thanks for the advice. I've been complete since 08/01 and I haven't heard anything, I am going to e-mail her tomorrow and pursue this a bit more aggressively. Good luck on the finals.
