I was wondering if I should put my research experiences under the work/activities section, or if this is not necessary because it will be explained in greater depth in the research essay for MD/PhD applicants. I would personally like to not put them in, because I could use the extra activities for other things.

Any suggestions or what you did in the past would be appreciated.

Thanks

I put mine in. Isn't there still a pull-down option for research or something? I would think that it might be useful for busy ADCOM members to get a quick picture of your research experience w/o reading your essays.

Ditto...plus it gives you an opportunity to explain some of the boring logistics of your research that may seem akward in a essay. For instance, you worked X hours in the summer and Y hours in the school year...or you worked for credit this semester and then did a senior honors thesis another semester and got paid another semester. Not that all of those details are always neccessary but they can clarify things sometimes depending on how things develop in your application.

I run out of activites and have a question about where to put my research?

I did 2 summer research programs and worked on-campus for 3 years which resulted in a honors thesis.

I presented posters and gave talks at confrences for each with abstracts .not sure how to designate if for my AMCAS? I don't have that much room? SHould I clump them together under confrences or abstracts?

Do I put them under poster presentation, confrences, or just research?

confused 😕

If I recall correctly you have 15 activites that you can enter. I would try to fill this with as much non-research stuff as possible first. They will see your research in the essay. If you have room, then I would try to make it look as impressive as possible by filling the remaining spaces with research experience, conferences, etc.

There are 15 spaces..but I am not applying MSTP, so I want to show that I have done research.

Maybe I should post in pre-allo?

Thanx.
