Yep, Parkland does need some work. I used to love wading through the homeless people on the way to work in the AM.

They are trying to secure land for a new county hospital though.

I used to work up in the OR at Parkland and over at Children's in the ER/Firstcare. I did OR at St Paul too.

The TMDSAS screwed with my GPA. I actually interviewed at Baylor (AMCAS), but didn't hear from any TMDSAS schools.

We actually just had a 4th year from my school accepted to Parkland for EM.

Yeah, I'm gonna try for Parkland. I was a paramedic there, and my cousin is a trauma nurse there.

Parkland is good for trauma, but it is a dirty hospital in a very bad part of town. If I didn't like trauma, I wouldn't even consider applying there.

I'm from Dallas too!! Everything is hotter in Texas. Look at this pic as compared to the first one. Its from when I used to model and everyone thought all black models should have either an afro or no hair They always tried to make me look "ethnic" whatever that means.

I have nothing against the afro as I sport one every now and then, but why did they try to do that?

Well when I modeled, minority women were few and far between. The white women tended to be very plain looking, so they could be made to look anyway the designer felt fit. Minority women (especially me because I'm Creole) have very distinctive features, so designers would just try to make us look very eccentric or exotic. They thought the best way to do this was to give me a fro...all the damn time. The funny thing is, they all thought they were being "different."

Yeah, one of my friends is a Korean model and she said they always tried to make her look "chinky" (her words, not mine). They made sure she wore minimal makeup and would tell her to close her eyes so they would look smaller. Trust me, my friend was so beautiful she did not need to change anything about herself.

I hate Children’s, I went there when I had scoliosis and they told me it wasn't bad enough for surgery and I should just wait to see what was going to happen with it. I went to another doctor and it turned out I needed surgery (I had a 44 degree curvature of the spine) then my doc told me about some other patients from Children's he'd seen who "waited" and ended up with 80 degree curvatures nshyt. They were doing research on scoliosis and some people were unfortunate enough to end up in the control group. That’s messed up right?

Its hard hanging out with all your high school friends who got pregnant and dropped out of college, being around people who are doing what I'm doing would be fun.

Does anyone else value anonyminity, no pics no prejudice towards my views.

i'm going to go out on a limb here and say, i don't think this is you, unless you are actually a model. that woman's face looks too much like WAX!

I hate to break it to you, but not every person that is beautiful is only beautiful if they are a mode. There are many indian and mediterranean women that are naturally beautiful like that. I may not have that perfect face, but I can attest to many whom have those near perfect looks out of natural beauty. So don't hate on her.

I vote Cafe Brazil, but I don't know if you guys know/like that place. Once I get input, I will post a thread with date, time, and directions. 👍
