It reminds me of my position way back in 2004. I was a really really strong applicant, I had a 3.95673 and a 38S. Schools knew me on a first name basis and kept calling me left and right. I was accepted at 12 medical school and didn't even open the extra large envelopes for five others. So basically I had a huge problem. My father and father's father (oh yeah and Uncle) are both invasive cardiothoracic surgeons. To make a long story short my father made a horrible choice with medical school and only landed the third best residency program in the nation for derm.. So, he decided to just settle for his father's program (did I stress that this was a horrible choice). You bet things would have been different if he had landed that sweet residency position. I know I didn't get a damn 7 series BMW for my college graduation because of it. I know it. I really hope I don't have to put my kids through such a conundrum. Do I go to my Dad/Dad's school on a full ride or do I go to the best school in the nation. I am really stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one. Please help. I just really have doubts now. I might as well just not go to medical school. Being pre-med is so hard, I hate it.
