Is PV=NRT only for ideal gases only if P is low and T is high? If yes, what are the limits of each? Do you have to judge each problem whether or not you can use this equation based on the P and T given? There was a question where a P of 50atm and a T of 30 K was given and it said you can't use the ideal gas law.

Thanks.

There will not be anything that says "you can't use the ideal gas law" on the DAT. If it looks, smells, and tastes like an ideal gas law problem, then it is one on the real DAT.

I think it's pretty safe to say that if you're given pressure, volume, moles, or temperature of a gas, you'll have to use PV=nRT to solve the problem. My fave equation by the way 🙂 #nerdzone
