I don't know if you guys have heard of this, but please educate yourselves and write your senetors so that this bill doesn't pass.

good article by the reptile channel: http://www.reptilechannel.com/reptile-news/2009/02/20/proposed-python-ban.aspx

Senetor Bill Nelson of Florida proposed an amendment to title 18, which prohibits the importation of injurious animals to the US and across state borders, to include all species of the genera Python. This was brought about due to the feral population of Burmese pythons in the everglades, so now they want to wipe out all pythons species in the US. This is being supported by the HSUS (Humane Society of the United States). This is their stepping off point to ban reptiles as pets, their next proposed step after this goes through is to ban the genera Boa as an injurious animal as well.

If this bill passes it will devastate the pet trade, and my family is part of it. Please ask your senator not to support this bill. I know that the majority of the people don't like snakes, but there is a relatively large population that does, so lets please not be a part of the banning of pythons.
