I just like the entertainment of the effort.

NOTE: This game has a special mechanic that MAY require you to use a google doc. Therefore, you MUST be willing to provide me with an e-mail address you use to sign into google docs ahead of time. You can PM it to me.. It will be kept private. If you do not have one you are willing to send, just sign up for a temporary free account. It must be different for every player in the game. Most of you have used google docs in pre-vet as a wolf, if not, I am sure someone can give you technical help. If you are not willing/able to do this, please do not sign up. You would only need to access this google document probably once or twice the whole game for one time.

I think the only issue with that is I know your game mechanics and roles.... :meanie:

I would love to join, MrsSOV, but I am flying home and will be gone all day Saturday... and I have been away from family for so long that I need to step away and spend some time with them... I will pop in and say hi though at some point...

you know sov, you are very close to being a legendary, mod. The only issue I have with your games is that while they create many great new ideas, you try them all out at once and always run the very fine line between organized chaos and total ass F***ery. 10 deaths a night and 3 resurrections a night is not my style. I prefer making the game slow but strategic and always a mind f*** . But I have to say you always push the envelope, and it's why I'm in this game. I may not always like it, but god damnit I respect it.

I have the strangest most conflicted feelings of excitement and dread about this game so I want to get my whining out the head of time. So excited

I like both the bolded comments. I agree, I like to try stuff out and see how it goes, but most of it has worked. This game... who knows? I have 2 really new dynamics in this game... the rest is variations on a theme.

There is a certain amount of whining in every game.. it goes with the territory. And my next point is really key..

TRY TO HAVE FUN GUYS..... WINNING IS ALWAYS DAMN IMPORTANT, but if you aren't enjoying the process, why bother.
 
This is going to be a very interesting game. 😀 I have no ideas about how things are going to work, or even who the 'baddies' are going to be. (well, some idea, but definitely not sure of them all).

I feel like SOV's games are like a really complex surgery: fascinating, cool, and disgusting all at the same time. 🙂

I'm always riding the fence between "oh, that was a cool idea" and "this is so complicated there's no point - I might as well just randomly vote." Sometimes more one way than the other.

But I particularly like that SOV's games always have a unique, really interesting coherent theme that locks it all together. He comes up with cool mechanics, but what I really like are his narratives that tie it all together - they're awesome. I just wish the designs were ever so slightly less complicated so that as a player you had at least <some> chance of figuring things out, instead of just going along for the ride.

Definitely looking forward to this one. 🙂 I suspect I'm about to get punked. 😉

I think I say this every time.. but my next game I want to be much simpler. Just have fun with the roles. I think the SDN game (imitating other users) was the closest to that, except with that crazy secret player twist... That was my most fun to mod because I was laughing so hard with everyone doing their imitations.

I really think someone should do a Lounge version (I think Fonz would be a great moderator for that... ). I don't know the people well enough to do it justice (or to be appreciated).

You forgot that you simultaneously had the most complicated game ever going on. If the SDN game had been any more complicated, I may have had to commit SDN hari-kari (delete my account, and make a new one under a suspiciously similar name, like PackenUSA). I don't think you can do simple 😉

Really? You thought the WWildlife game with 22 wolves and everyone killing everyone else was complicated? :laugh:

I was pretty much ready to kill myself those first few days. Luckily there was so much death the workload decreased pretty quickly.

The gerbils are asleep while I am at work...

They will be ready for some work later today. Hopefully roles out tonight and tomorrow. Game thread up AFTER roles are sent out.

My favorite moment was stealing Nyanko's avatar before it was really announced that we'd be doing precisely that ... and seeing all the confusion that resulted. I was just joking around because it was an SDN game, and then it turns out that was exactly what you intended.
