Monty Python and the Holy Grail Official WW game thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think if you do a Bridge of Death thing again, it should be the same question for every poster. When I got there, all the questions everyone else had had to answer were stupid and informationless, but I was asked if I was a wolf. So I got useless information, and had to reveal something critical to avoid a penalty for lying. I'll be honest, it pissed me off.

Also, the wolves had their own private google doc. Didn't want the mods seeing too much 😀 If you want, I can post that.

YAY WOLVES!! We did fantastically despite our odds at some points. And our first time wolves were marvelous! TIS BUT SCRATCHES!!

Thanks, mods, for running such a great game to get me through my first finals week of my 1st semester of vet school. happy holidays, all!!!!

!

Figured that might be what you did.
Your loss. We helped the knights from time to time to clarify things that we didn't want confusion about, it was really not meant to punitive, unless you were doing something unethical.

Not really sure about the paranoia over the mods. Somehow, I am sure JDH was responsible for that.

FYI: It also helped knowing what actions the knights were thinking of taking to help plan write-ups.

A fair point, but part of the game is the randomness of stuff. It would have been an unfortunate occurrence for you, although it didn't matter in the end. You were dead before anyone could see it.

Originally I was going to force everyone to put down their role name, but I was talked out of that as too much information.

I thought it was an interesting idea, still not sure how I would do it again.... it really had no impact on the game. No important roles were revealed to wolves, and no wolves were impacted by it.

:biglove: SOV and devyn.

This game was awesome! I loved being a Knight of the round table. I was so rooting for a villager win until I got converted to a wolf in the second to last night. So, I played double agent and assigned useless actions to SnS and myself and plotted awesomeness with TT. :meanie:

Lots of fun, and a great way to spend the first couple days of my break!

Yup, I do think it was jdh  I tried to sort of keep up with it but then at some point, it just got away from me. Loved being in charge of the wolf actions. My grades may have suffered but it was worth it👍

WTF: I dont know how she always gets the quirky roles, but it is totally random.

So.... you guys are not very observant.. WTF voted for a wolf in every single lynch. She could investigate the complete info about 2 people per night, and picked the right ones to start. I assumed you guys would figure out she had good info and pay attention and protect her, but no one noticed. SMH.

Voting patterns matter!

We noticed! We had to get rid of her.

I think one of the turning points for the wolves near the end was going away from attacking the players we thought had big roles (FTB, Jam, SnS), and going after villagers we thought would not be protected. He got lucky and hit orca2011. Until reading the role sheet, I thought swings had been a protector too (not a fake one). I thought we hit the jackpot getting too protectors in one night. We had to get our two kills that night, to get the numbers closer. EC was going to get attacked, and people were quite suspicious of me already.

SOV & Devyn - what did you think of my Brother Maynard alibi? I was planning on saying that if I got the Hand Grenade, it would automatically be a kill shot. Unfortunately, my role info was out there and I couldn't pull that off.

I was asked if I was a wolf, too, so you weren't the only one. And I didn't even have any other people in front of me to get ANY information from. 🙂

So basically, choosing to sign up in that slot meant telling three people I was a villager without gaining anything in exchange. 🙂

I like the Bridge in concept, I'm just not sure it plays well. For me that hardest part about it were the constraints (the Fight Club rules). It didn't matter for me since I didn't get any info from the Bridge, but if I had I would have been really unsure how to go about using it. Couldn't talk about it.... at what point would it cross the line? Let's say a villager was up for lynch and you knew via the Bridge they were a villager ... what could you say? Nothing? Something like "I'm 100% positive they were a villager as of two nights ago"? I would have been frustrated not knowing how I could use the info without stepping across the line.

Good game, mods. I guess. I didn't really get to play in it. 🙂

I was impressed. I wonder if the info wasn't out about EC if it would have worked though. Still. It wasted a lynch on EC.

Good game, everyone. I'm sad that the villagers lost -- and surprised to see that I converted myself at the end. I had no idea that would happen.
Yup. I like the gorge. 🙂
👍 Me, too. Especially since going there meant I could finally talk 😛

Aw...you thought I had a big role? Nope....just rescued a princess...prince....thing who then fell down and died. And LIS...I tried to rescue you first...figured if SOV had anything to say about it...you or DocE would be the princess😛

Haha you hopping around on one leg...good lord.

And borringgg...the knights loved seeing Dev and SOV stalk. We were hookah smoking, tie dyed wearing knights of awesomeness.

SO FRUSTRATING! I KNEW EVERYTHING! (well almost everything, damn close)
I had jdh, kaydubs, zany, tt, and ec all picked before I was killed.

Why someone didn;t protect me after I was rezzed as a Llama...and no one gave me credit for zany.... 🙁

Good game, mods!

Some joke roles: (there are more)
Dennis: investigates for autocrats not wolves. Amazingly Kakuru accidentally revealed 2 wolves by accident before the role gave her information she seemed reluctant to share .

i felt all good and stuff about my kaydubs info but then thought i figured out sns's role from the bridge thing and was really confused. frustrating role.

I dont know how the wolves pulled that off.
1) Everyone was suspicious of TT but you all voted for Kakuru. That was the game there.

🙁 i was wondering why you made it sound like a big loss ("major miscalculation") that i was lynched, but makes sense now.

Good game mods!
I was really pleased that I wasn't lynched for being my usual suspicious self this time around.

Awesome game SOV and Devyn!

Haha Orca2011, and here I was being good and NOT being all suspicious and annoying and I got lynched anyways for it. 😉

I really like the Gorge idea!

That was completely poetic license. SnS and MrsSOV were killed leaving you as the lone villager.... Seemed more appropriate to convert you to evil. Not really part of the game plan.

I liked the Gorge too, and I liked my role of being able to choose who lives and dies. 😉

I'm not sure if my intense interest in interrogating the people in the gorge gave me away though. It was hard to get enough info to figure out who was worth saving without doing that, especially early on.

Loved the game, SOV! I liked everything about it except for dying! 🙂

LOVE me some Monty Python.

Ironic that I was the avatar I picked before the game even started. My favorite character is Tim the Enchanter!! I am so happy I got affiliations, not role/character. Made things much easier!

Good game, guys!

...Shoulda saved me.

Hahaha. Kind of just happens. We're both just jinxed. There's always a point in the game, usually around like day 5 I want to say, that is "lynch Orca time."

Great game, mods! I think SOV's games are my favorite. :meanie:

I think I did pretty well for a first time original wolf, ha!

Also this game I had people who could NOT move .. especially wolves. I thought you might notice especially after the reshuffle.

Guy Lombaird: had to stay in french castle.
zoot: had to stay in antrax
rabbit: had to stay wherever she was.
black beast had to stay in argh
Prince had to stay in his castle.

Kind of a joke since where you sign up NEVER matters but this time it did (made role assignment a pain in the butt).

Except when you forgot that I had to stay in the Cave...twice besides the "exception" of the bridge of death...

great game SOV!!

it was fun until Jam was converted 😛

Psh. Speak for yourself!
Although, I think I was dead at the point of conversion.

Boo, grumble, hiss 😛

Though I did the exact same thing to poor Lissa in the Batman game. Was converted super late in the game...so I know what it's like to be on the other side.

You still don't get to sit at our hookah round table with us anymore.

Honestly, I was surprised most of us made it that far tbh.

lol yeah I was gonna say of all people you deserved it.

at least the wolves didn't win in that game though. 😉

It was actually the X-Men game. But yeah, villagers still won that one despite my stupidity.

That's happened to me a lot. I get converted about a couple of rounds before the wolves win. This was my first time actually being a wolf from the beginning. 😎

It was my first time being a wolf in any capacity. DocE was quite right when he said I was due to be a wolf by now.
