This graph is given for the question and it is asking: The closest approximation to the biotic potential of the population. The correct answer is A. My answer was C and I am wondering why C is not the correct answer.

C corresponds to the carrying capacity. Biotic potential is during the time where the population size is growing at it's maximal rate.

Biotic potential is a maximum rate of growth of the population. C is just a maximum population size, not a rate of growth. Usually high growth rate is seen when a few individuals start a new population.
