Q re Step 2 scores in April

Hi guys. I have always been confused about the step 2 reporting. I opted not to have my scores automatically released, and just recently got them back. Passing step 2 is a requirement for starting my residency. I was wondering how my program gets my scores so late in the game? Do I need to release them via ERAS or do they receive them on their own?

Transmit them through eras before it closes in May or youll have to pay to have an official score report sent to your residency program from NBME.

Correct, go through ERAS. One thing I would also add is to email the program coordinator so that they can manually download stuff from the ERAS Post Office. Only email them once the document becomes marked as "available for download" in ADTS, because it may take 1-2 days for the USMLE request to go through.
