Q. Can anybody pls explain why patient with splenomegaly have thrombocytopeina and patient with asplenia or autosplenectomy have thrombocytosis.Thanks.

Spleen stores platelets. A larger spleen can store more platelets --> less circulating --> penia.

Without a spleen, a storage space for platelets is gone --> more circulating platelets --> thrombocytosis.
