Are these questions for real? I'm scoring less than 40% on the ethics questions (it doesn't help when there are actually 10 answer choices). Now I would like to consider myself reasonable normal with these questions. Anyone else notice a severe kicking from ethics?

The key to these "BS" questions is to be direct and up front with your patient (i.e. if you know something tell the patient, and it's better to tell them sooner than later), truthful (this one's a gimme), inquisitive if it serves to helping provide a dx (i.e. ask more questions if you DON'T have a dx, in contrast to the first point), and the correct answer (almost) always addresses EACH issue in the question stem (although sometimes a single "part" of a response addresses multiple issues). Pay careful attention to the REASONING of each correct answer and any other that you were having difficulty choosing it from. I feel that (for the most part) the explanations are REALLY good...I might be biased though, I got my undergrad degree in anthropology and like this kind of stuff). I was getting "spanked" in the beginning on behavioral too, but am now over 80% for the course (67% overall...thanks to the last 400 MCQs, with about 1100 questions completed). Best of luck !!!(and sorry for all the " ()'s "... :meanie: :meanie: :meanie: )

I agree.. .the questions are way out in left field... The real deal doesn't have questions that are this complicated (at least if my experiences w/ the NBME tests is any indication). I doubt they contain 10 answers like qbanks does either!

Yes, the Qbank ethics questions are too complicated and often really, really long. In addition, I remember seeing at least 2 that were totally incorrect. In addition to the addition, why are there seemingly always 8-10 responses for each question?!?!?!? The real step has no more than 5 choices to choose from for the ethics/patient relationship questions.

If you know all the ethics/law/doctorpatient relationship facts listed in BRS Behavioral Science, you'll do just fine on the real exam. Williamette did a great job of rounding up some of the more important points too.
