Q: How many gallons of pure orange pulp must be added to 30 gallons of a 20% solution of orange pulp to make it a 50% solution?

(30*0.2)/(30+x) = (0.5)(30+x)
I think this is the correct way to set up.

the answer should be 18

since 20% of 30 is 6 gallons of pure pulp

so in order to make 50%, you gotta add more pure pulp into this 6 gallons

6 +x = you will add should be equal to 50% ( 30 gallons + you add)

so, 6+x = 50% (30 +x)

x = 18
