Hello,

Looking through some older posts, I had some similar questions though the threads went silent with no answers. So....If any one can offer some tips, that would be great!

1. When you order routine labs and schedule a follow up in 1 week, do you just keep hitting "continue" instead of stop clock and then keep hitting "next available result" to see everything or is there a faster/more correct way to do this? Literlly have to hit "next available result" 10 times to get 10 results while th patient is at home until followup and not sure if points are docked for doing it that way.

2. When someone is in the hospital, how do you check for vitals and new lab results to see their status? the same "next result" button. Feel like I am overusing this.

3. In the ED and ward settings, do you always order stat labs and consults. I know some of it obviously depends, but in the ER if you order a UA routine, it takes 6 hrs so have been doing stat....

thanks to all past and future step takers

also what is the difference between stop clock and continue. All i can figure is stop clock lets you write orders and doesn't advance simulated time, but the same can be said even if you his the continue button...

1) I hit next available result. I don't know what is right or wrong.

2) order vital qwhatever (ie q4h) and you will get vitals every 4 hours. Or you can just order another set of vitals.
Same thing goes for labs, you just put in another order.

3) in the ER, I ordered stuff stat.
