Quality of secondaries?

How good do secondaries really need to be? I mean you have a small amount of space for many ~1500 characters. I can't really build up with something like that. So do I just go straight to the point and not worry too much about sounding really strong and elaborate here? How good does it need to be compared to my personal statement?

I'd suggest that the style and attention to careful grammar, puctuation, spelling be equal to that of your Primary Statement least adcommms think you may not have been the author of both. If you need to be more succinct, there's no problem with that.

Yea like U of M wants you to explain something you're passionate about. I don't know how to sound really strong about in such little space, but I explained myself clearly and it's believable. Don't know what else to do besides that, just doesn't sound super-passionate. I wrote it about music.

You can only try. Adcomms like to see a little sparkle in your application, and hopefully you were able to communicate your feelings well enough to show that.
