I had a kinda odd question:

Since 1 quarter is less than a semester, do schools on a quarter system cram more into there classes than schools on the semester system?
It seems like my friend at a quarter system school is able to take a lot more classes than I am. Even if I fill my remaining semesters, I wont be able to cover all the topics of my interest.

just curious as to what everyone's thoughts are regarding quarter vs semester.

The only diffrence is that some classes like English, wich you dont spend a lot of time in during a semester, can be covered in one quarter, or about 12 weeks. The downside is that classes like Calculus and Chemistry will require more classes to cover the whole sequence (1 year = 3 quarters or 2 semesters)

schools consider 1 year of (for example calculus) = 2 semesters = 3 quarters. I don't know if you'd consider quarter system schools to cram more estuff into each quarter but from past experience, they do seem to make your year pass a lot quicker! i thought quarter system was 👍 since you don't have to remember too far back for your finals if they are indeed cumulative. try thinking back 10 weeks versus 19 weeks? (or somethign like that)

Sooo glad im transferring to a quarter school...

My school is on a semester-based system, but I still think that the quarter system is best. It is very difficult to have any interest for classes during the last couple of weeks of the semester. It just seems so long.

I'd rather cram a bit and move on to something new.
